The title of this post may sound very cruel but I am going to justify it.
When rest of the world thinks of India, one of the picture that comes in their mind is poverty which prevails everywhere and poor public hygiene. They used to address India as third world. Now a days western countries have started fearing and respecting India because of the swelling economic influence. Sometime back UK tried to deplete Indian medical tourism by saying that public hygiene is poor.
Now let me tell you some great things about how it pays to live in India. It is true that per-capita income is much low in comparison to rich countries, but at the same time it gives us opportunity to produce goods and services at far more cheaper than rest of the world. This is primary reason why we have grown so much economically.
I feel blessed when I pay 1500 INR for domestic help. We can hire Coolies at railway station, in rich countries there is no such concept, everyone carries their own stuff. Prices of organic healthy food is quite cheaper in comparison to other countries. Less is always more philosophy holds true here. Even though average income of middle class in US, UK and Japan is much more they can not enjoy the luxury enjoyed by Indian middle class.
We can produce world class Engineers, Doctors, Scientists, Lawyers, Astronauts at far more cheaper rate than other countries. Consequently our R&D is much cheaper than other countries.
The whole world was astounded when we sent spacecraft to moon. They say, how come a poor county like India can do it. The only reason is poverty, which gives cheap labor.
Success of Indin IT/ IT Enabled/ Pharmaceuticals companies is due to cheap labor. Our poverty
gives us competitive edge over other countries.
But it does not mean we should tern deaf ear towards poverty, there should be great amount of government and private efforts to improve quality of life of urban and rural poor. If we are ahead of the rest of the world because of our cheaper lifestyle then let it be.

This is absolute truth.
ReplyDeleteYou can just dream of services like Milk, Paper, Groceries at your doorstep in developed nations.
And it is so true that necessity is the mother of all inventions. I've read recently that India is becoming a hot spot for R&D due to talent pool and improving infrastucture.
So, let's make sure that we're contibuting to India's growth in some way or the other and be a part of success story that future generations will be proud of.
Yes you are right ,
ReplyDeleteBut let me tell you my friend , Indian economy is going to be like foreign countries economy very soon . Did u notice the prices of food items , it becomes much more , before 2 years the prices of Methi and Turdal were 2 rs. per gaddi and 20 Rs/kg respectively , Now a days It has become 12 Rs . /gaddi and 85 Rs/kg. For everything related to food we have to pay more money for this . For 1 apple I need to pay 30 rs.
Then How indian economy is growing ?
If you notice then you will come to know that the rich people becoming richer and richer and poor people becoming poorer in India .
Government is declaring that the inflation rate is decreasing , but actually its increasing in real Bharat .
There is a large difference between India and Bharat.
These days We dont have honest politicians , we dont have honest government officers like foreign countries have . We are at top position for bad things such as population , AIDS , Cancer , corruption , prostitution , rape cases , murder cases etc and now for Swine flu . There are many bad things which would take too many pages if I start writing .
Do you know that there is 20% duplication in each and every medicine in India ?
Are u sure about our food is hygienic and healthy?
No , Anything can happened in India .
India is going to be most corrupted country in the world.
We have to save our Hindusthan.
It is true that there are certain bad things in India. You have rightly said that soon India is going to be rich like other countries. But that day is at least 20 years ahead. If we do investment on agriculture by public and private sector I am sure that we will have cheap food. We have corruption because we do not have money for monitoring and control. I hope with the growth everything will be fine.
